Now this would make for a neat diorama. Now all you need to find is an appropriate 1/35 scale car. An Opel to be nice and accurate. Everything else would be pretty easy. Apparently the driver never saw the 60+ ton tank.

Hey Matt,
Where did this happen , somewhere in the Middle East?
The military types are wearing desert camo but they're wearing green webbing gear, the M1 is painted green, brown and ???? and it's been raining.
There also appears to be what I think is an oil storage dome off in the distance.

This sort of thing happened all the time when I was in Germany. Mainly kamrad (German civilian) gets impatient and starts whipping in and out of traffic. He zips out passes a tank sees traffic coming at hm so he zips back in but tank in front is stopped. BLANG !!!!!!!!!!! Of course the Army gets blamed and we end up buying kamrad a new car. And yes, I know what the index finger to the forhead means ... and even when they turn it back and forth too..

"I swear, I didn't see the tank!" Really, that's what he claimed.
Yeah, right. It's 70 tons, 10 meters of green steel sitting stationary on the three-lane road.

This should be considered barely a fender bender with a tank vs. car accident. The driver is lucky he isn't squished and dead.
I bet he got his car paid for courtesy of the US Gov't.

Looks like Iraq to me. Traffic is a bit different in that part of the world than most of us are used to.
Here is a small movie about what happens when a tank meets a Honda Civic. Never mind the Norwegian language, it is basically just technical data about the tank since the clip was made for Norwegian television.
Erik
The Civic "gets it" at the end of the movie.

VW Golf T-boned my M88 in Germany mid 70's. Told the Politizi that he did not see the house sized, ground shaking, deafening vehicle, with two yellow rotating beacons and don't forget the yellow reflective tape on the dozer blade!

If it were a tank owned by Haliburton, they would of billed the governement for a new Abrams

Same thing happend here the other day with our new M1's. Apparently the driver of the car was drunk and did not see the tank. We at least we now know that the sand colour they are painted in works for people who drink. No need to cam the tanks now. We now just need to get the enemy drunk all the time so they wont see it.

im amazed they didnt shoot that car straight to hell. after all a car in iraq speeding toward a US tank, could very well be a car bomb.
