Long time no see. Great to see you back.
This is fantastic work. The gargoyles are a bit big, but may work in the end depending on the overall scene. I love the inside floor, nice.

(can you give us an up date on your big diorama at the 'docks'?)

WOW! What a brilliant building. Just love the wood and stonework you've done. Absolute craftmanship.

OUstanding work. Looks like the real thing.
Do you pick the gargouilles from the toys of the cartoon "Notre dame de Paris".
I found The architecture great, but I'm not sure the gargouille placed on the wooden balcony is at his right place. Gargouilles are usually placed on rocks, or bricks just under a roof, but to my knowledge, not on a wooden balcony.
I wuold like also to see if possible an update on the huge and beautifull dio on the docks you shown here sometimes ago.

Best,
Julien

Thanks guys,
Scott, yeah I'm back for good, rumors of my death/desertion are greatly exaggerated................good to see you again !!!
Scott, Julian, your sooooo right, I came home from work and the wife and kids said the Gargoyles looked stupid. I 've had these from Michaels for awhile and everyone thinks they would look better served in a Church or all stone building. I agree but I'm still trying to fit them in somewhere.
The Gargoyles will be replaced with planters, pics. to follow, although o5Sultan just made a new buddy, l.o.l.
Scott, Julian, thanks for remembering the Tramp Steamer !!!! Once Fall and football season starts I'm going to devote as much time as possible to the docks.
It involves an Accurate Armour VIIC 1/35th sub, an Azimut E/S ? boat and the freighter you've seen plus a partially sunken one.......... whew !!!!
Thanks again - Cheyenne

Hi Ian, thanks man, I've missed you too !!!!!
Hey Frank, thanks, yep thats r.r. stonework on the front. You've got to go to r.r. hobby shops there's soooooo much adaptable stuff for 1/35th dios.
The back and side walls were printable stone sheets, [ oh, also the first floor was a printable marble sheet ] this was supposed to be an interior build with a roof. After building Alan's lighthouse and realising cool interior stuff needs to be seen and skylights and windows just weren't enough, I decided to make this an outdoor beerhouse/cafe.
Before pics. :

Sorry, but I just had to put my beer drinking, cigar smoking tanker buddy in there.
Thanks for looking - Cheyenne

Another great piece of work Cheyenne, your woodwork is superb. I see that you don't just raid the RR shop, I think I recognise a fair few pieces from the Dollshouse department... .
I think the gargoilles are out of place. Perhaps one inside, as an ornament, rather than as an architectural feature. How about on the corner of the bar...
Good to see you back posting Cheyenne, your woodwork has been an inspiration. And don't go building a load for the crane in your dock diorama. I' will get the Pzr I built, hopefully before you finish your dio.. Although your propensity to start building these huge pieces for others on the site, might well mean that the completion of the docks will be some time away...

Cheers
Henk

Hey Paul how's it goin ? Yeah Summer stinks for modelimg for me too, it's my busy season at work, lotsa o.t. though. At least it helps keep the model shops and model manufactures happy when I spend it !!!!!
Once the turistos go home in Sept. things should wind down and leave me my weekends, beer, and N.F.L. - Go Cleveland Browns !!!!
Jim grab a stool - beers are on me.
Hi Henk, thanks, yeah Gargoyles are a little too much for this. I do have the castle book you sent me and I'll find use for them.
Actually no dollhouse items, piano - Verlinden, candlabra [ sp? ] made from jewelry bits and such from Michaels, Oriental rug -woven silk from Jackhammer, Bar - scratch, Gargoyles -resin from Michaels, etc. l.o.l.
Some model R.R. items, sheet brick, & stone from Plastruct, cork, balsa & basswood.

Oh yeah, Henk, once the season ends and I have the time this beerhouse/cafe build and a mill I'm doing should wrap up fast . Then I'm going back to the docks !!!!

I totally agree with your decision to make it an outdoor bar area. Great detail - I actually recognize the parts of your candleabre.

I can totally see a family crest or shield with two crossed swords or even a mounted boars head on the angled area of the side walls.
