Jeff
I can't answer your first question but I can answer the second.
Pro Art Models makes a superb SINCGARS set
http://www.proartmodels.be/mod_products.htm
and MR Modern from Accurate Armour makes another, not quite as complete.
http://www.accurate-armour.com/ShowProduct.cfm?manufacturer=27&category=0&product=1352&cat=48&subcat=148
Now your next question will be how are they set up, just go to either the threads here for "Afghanistan Hummers" and "M1114" and you see a lot of SINCGARS and other system sets up and discussions.
I hope you have good eye sight .;0)
Best

Go With the Pro art ones...... WAY better than the MR ones..........
What Timeframe are you looking to build the HMMWV for? that would dictate the radio setup.

SINCGARS began being fielded in the Mid-'90s. When I was a 2LT in '94, were were just receiving them at 1st CAV and they were one of the first units to get them. Some units still had the older VRC-160 (PRC-77 vehicle mount), as in the Tamiya kit, until the late '90s.

First Thanks all.
Second I guess should of been more specific.
E Troop, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized), Iraq Spring 2003 .
does that help more Folks.
All from the Tamiya 1046 with tow.
Thanks again

Yes, all 3 ID units had SINCGARS by '03. Most had the ASIP version, about half the size of the original ICOM version. It is the narrow one in the Pro Art set.
