Hi
Yesterday I have decided to go to my favourite hobby shop, looking for Korea war-related stuff. But as I entered the shop things went beyond my control : when I realized something was wrong it was too late : I have bought a Trumpeter M1A1HA ! So my question are : is this version in use in Irak at the moment ? Is there any good online source of reference pics (walkaround pics would be fine) for this beast ?
I have just forgotten to ask if this kit is a good one
TIA

Frenchy, you are one DAMN lucky man!!! I was visiting the local National Guard Armory and got nearly 450 pictures of an M1A1. I am currently trying to find someplace to host them. If you have specific pictures you would like, I can email them to you a couple at a time. I don't have the resources to email them all to anyone yet. When I get them posted, I will let you know.

I think I can honestly say I am the definitive resource for Abrams pics right now. I have amassed over 1000 images of the Abrams, including 300 interior images. I am definetly spending to much time on the internet. LOL Also, Thanks to Rob Gronovius for his images of the interior at the Gallery:

PS Thanks for the reference Martin, it made me feel good.

Yes, it is one of the most common variants in use today.

Frenchy, let me guess : you went to Azimuth ?

I don't know personaly about the kit, but Rob (Sabot) always says nice things about it.

Thanks to all for the inputs. Now I think I may have to put my Korean war diorama projects aside for a while
PenPen, I live near Lyon so I buy most of my kits there (BTW I think that I prefer dealing with affable people...)

Yes, it is fine OOB; however, vehicles in theater have the louvered IFF panels installed. Having seen the Eduard PE ones, it would be real easy to make it out of flat styrene strips.

The kit is a decent M1A1.

In fact, these panels are included in the box. On the other hand, I think I could scratchbuild better ones, using those of the kit as a template.
Once again I will certainly go and have more than one look at your online motorpool, Rob.

The Legends accessory set has three superb ones in it, as well as plenty of other cool stuff.

Sorry ! And I just understand you sooooo well ! And that's also why I prefer Blast to Azimuth 100% !!!!
Sorry for disgressing.
If you want to see what's in the legend's prod package, check in Steel Masters, prob N°54, for the abrams build. I know that the build was very criticized on the french part of ML but it shows the AM stuff.

Also you can go to the arrmor review page here on Armorama. It has an article about the set and tells you what all is in it. I got mine for $16 US.

Talking about details, is the APU systematically mounted on Abrams, at least in Irak ? A negative answer would be find, as the Trumpeter APU is said to be inaccurate
