Well, after a couple of months building, I finally finished it. If you guys would be so kind as to take a look at it and give me some feedback I'd appreciate it. Tomorrow I'll take some natural light pics and post those. You can see it here. Thanks!
Build-up review to follow!

Looks good there Bryan. I will post one picture soon this tank from Korea as soon as I find my photo album. This was the so called Patton?

Bryan, very nice job! :-) Nice subtle weathering, terrific job on the mantlet cover, and I like the small amount of scratches on the surface corners!

Bryan,
Looking good! I want to see the natural light pics though. There's still room in the gallery if you want to send me images too. I like your custom-made page though.

Bryan,
looks great! I like the realism of the wooden box. What did you use to simulate the rope? And how did you do the mantlet canvas cover? Did you just drape a piece tissue soaked in white glue over it? I know, lots of questions, but I have only recently did some tissue in white glue to make bedrolls (they were too thin so I threw them away). Still learning....
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Ken, believe it or not, I didn't use a single pastel chalk on this thing. All the weathering (except the surface scratches) was done with my airbrush. The scratches were made with a silver pencil.
David, the rope is actually a gold colored thread. I threaded a needle with it and used the needle to weave the thread into knots and around tiedowns. I was actually surprised the needle and thread trick worked so good. The mantlet cover was made from about 3 pieces of tissue-one wrapped around the base of the barrel and two to form the base that attaches to the turret. They tissues were soaked in the glue/water mixture first then applied to the model. This way the tissue could be worked into place (and it would stay there) with the back edge of an exacto knife to get a realistic look. After the tissue had dried, I painted it khaki as called for in the kit. Without the mantlet cover I made, there would be a huge gap around the base of the gun because the kit mantlet cover didn't even come close to fitting. I had talked about doing the mantlet this way with Pipesmoker about a month ago and we weren't sure if it would work but I think it turned out ok. The box on the back was actually a time-wasting project that I was messing with. It's made from sheet styrene with grooves put into it with an exacto knife to simulate individual planks of wood. A wash followed the paint job to bring out the grooves.

Yeah Jim, I can't wait to see the natural light pics either. I just thought I would utilize my webspace instead of loading up the gallery and putting a further crunch on the site. Besides, I'm sure somebody else has a much nice model for the gallery.

Thanks for the info, Bryan!
I will put it to use soon. Just got done making some new bedrolls from tissue and white glue, as the ones I made before were too thin. Hope they turn out better this time.
Are you kidding!? It looks great!! I hope I can get it to look that way on my models....

Thanks David. It took me a while to get it right so I'm glad it looks good in the end.

I especially like the idea of a Naval man building armor! :-)

The entire tank was sprayed a ModelMaster Dark Green from one of their spray cans (didn't have the compressor at the time). The mantlet cover and bed rolls are Tamiya Khaki with flat brown straps. The entire model was then given a dusting of a 1:1 mixture of Tamiya Dark Earth and Alcohol from an airbrush.

Yeah, I guess that is kinda funny uh. This is my last piece of armor for a while. I've got four planes waiting in the wings. Their all Navy planes though except for an F-105 ThunderChief. At least two of them will be submitted for the contest so you'll get to see them.

Bryan,
Well how about the 3 best shots then? And we can also add a link on one of the captions to your offsite pics?
It's a pride thing you see. I have your first 2 tanks so I want to keep the collection up-to-date.
