To be honest, if there was a good enough model of the BMP, I'd build it like this one !
BTW, I've got an hesitation : is this a BMP1 or 2 ?

That's the trouble with BMP's - so many kits, and all of them are out of production. I've got the BMP 2 Afghanistan on pre-order at Great Models for months and months now. Since about the middle of last year

It looks like a BMP-1 in the pic. The BMP-1 has the shorter, larger calibre gun, while the BMP-2 has the much longer, smaller cal.

It is a BMP-1...it has the four rear deck doors, rather than just the two. Also, the turret is not the larger BMP-2 turret with the longer barreled gun.
The Esci kit of the BMP-1 is ok, slightly better than DML in my opinion. It builds into a good representation. Here is a link to my build of the BMP-1PG version:

overall, I think the kits are good, they just need a company to come out with a good PE set fo rthem...Eduard? The old eduard sets are...dissapointing.
