Nevermind they look proportional. I hope to build another Leopard C2 to the same level of accuracy that you've achieved on your 1A5 BE, I got another base kit on the way for my C2.

Your build is coming along very nicely...keep up the good work.
Andrew, the basic Leopard 1 A1 and the 1 A2 turrets did not have the Blohm and Voss add-on armour added....it is only two sided rubber with thin armour steel plates in between....not Lexan. There was no need to add it to the 1 A2 turret because the 1 A2 turret was the only version with thicker armour built in when the turret was cast.
The MEXAS on the Leopard 1A6BE and the Canadian Leopard C1 and C2 is the same...just different shaped modules...MEXAS is MEXAS.

Can't wait for the turret and the SABCA unit.
What reference shows the revised tow cable mounts on the engine deck?

Good evening guys thanks very much for the comments! You need that once in a wile
@ Paul: I'm still thinkng how to build the sabca unit but I'll manage I hope! The reverse cable is like that on every Leopard 1A5BE. I made a 150 walkthrough photo shoot of the Leopard 1A5BE in my army unit!
@ Jesper: Thanks buddy! I try to make it as accurate as possible this time.

Hello everybody
It's been some time since I last posted here. Unfortunate my camera took adirect hit and is broken. That is way this update came so late. I had to borrow a camera to take these shots.
This is the first post about the turret. So let me fill you in what happened:
1.First I had to clean up the turret and remove a lot of flash. Talk about a time consuming work :-D
2.I filled up some holes at the back of the turret and adjusted some connection points.
3.The smoke dischargers were adjusted and I added a protection ring to the right.
4.The turret case at the back was adjusted and I added a small gutter made of aluminium.
5.The rings around the 2 hatches were adjusted.
6.I made protective caps over the pericsopes.
The lighter parts are from sanding these are not glue left overs. There is a rude drawing where the sabca unit has to come.
De pics:
I have to wait for a evergreen plate I ordered. But it will arrive some time soon!
Till the next time
Grtz Roel

Did you check to make sure the vision blocks on the commanders cupola are correct, turns out they are arranged incorrectly on the kit. There is a really excellent photo on the modern canadian vehicle discussion group which shows the correct layout. Check your references!

What are the adjustments to the rings?
Looks like you put on the rain gutters as well. Can't wait to see how the SABCA looks.

Hey
@ Martin thanks for the comment buddy!
@Andrew thanks for pointing that out. I checked all of my pictures. I think there is two who needs adjustment but I'm not 100% sure. Could you give me the link? I will check there.
@Paul There was a little ledge on both rings which I sanded away for good and drilled some holes. These are for the machine gun mount.
Thanks for all the comments it keeps me going

I took a quick shot of the correct TC cupola. There was as Andrew pointed out a mistake in the kit version. The TC has 8 periscopes 7 in the ring and 1 a little forward. The kit only had 6 in the ring. The pic shows he correct way :-) You can see the protective ring laying beside the turret. It shows only 8 mounting points but it should be 9.
Thanks for the help and now back to the build :-D

Glad to be of service in some way! The adjustment of the vision blocks went smoothly, it's unfortunate that the kit comes with such a stupid error like that. I didn't orginally think they had it wrong but Paul Fredenburg showed us the photo which cleared it up completly. Looking good!

Good evening all from Belgium :-)
I want to share the new pics that I have made today! What we've done is we made the GPS antenna behind the TC hatch. The ring was placed back on after correcting it in the previous posting! The gunshield is ready and the protective cloth over the gunshield has been updated with some wire. The kit detail was to bad!
The pics:
So that is everything for tonight hope to post soon!!

Long time ago since I last posted on this thread. Unfortunatly this project came to a halt when I started my M-109A3 GN. A few weeks ago I restarted this kit. To make some room on my photobucket account I deleted previous images but not to worry I will post some new ones so you can all follow where I stopped last time. The hull is finished and I'm busy doing the turret right now not so easy since I have to scratch the entire Sabca gunners sight.
I will show you the kit first, two pics of the real tanks, and my progress where I stopped about a year ago so it will be easy to follow for everyone.
So let's get started shall we:
The German version:
The Belgian version:
Pics of the finished hull:
The turret:
That's all for now. Thanks for looking everyone and as always comments are welcome.
Greetings Roel

@Paul: Thanks for the comments. Those boxes are British style WW2 boxes from resicast. We use the same ones on our leopards to carry extra stowage equipment and food.

Hello all
Monday a fellow modeler of my club made some new pics of the progress made last week on the turret. The sabca gunners sight is coming along very nice and is taken shape The bad news is I will be abroad for the next 4 months so updates will be on halt since this is the last one. Hope you like the pics I included some of the real gunners sight to make it more clear.
The pics:
A lot of work has to be done yet. I hope to finish this beast when I return next year around april. You will be updated then I promiss :thumb:
Thanks for viewing and comments are welcome as always

Hey Roel , no I never got to go to cat gunnery. My unit in Baumholder never got that honor. We really looked bad when the german unit got the new leo's and we still had the M60A3's. The 8th ID was the last ones to get anything new.
