LOL! so why did you place winsor and newton oils as your subject? if you can afford them, winsor and newton oils are suppposed to be among the best if not THE best. the advantage of the more expensive "artist quality" oils as compared to the cheaper brands is that the pigments are finer. this makes a difference when you're painting matchhead size faces. don't want people to think your figures have acne, no sir! anyway, welcome to the hobby. prepare to lose some serious cash!

Hi plamski,
Welcome to the dark side... figure painting.
It seems to me that you are perhaps looking for colours that you will need for painting figures? Faces in particular?
I highly recommend (and yes, I'm very biased to HF ) you check out some of the fantastic painting features we have over on Armorama's sister site, Historicus Forma. You can check out all our Painting articles here: Painting Features on HF
A few articles I will immediately recommend to you are these:
Mixing Oil Paints by Craig Whitaker
Color Mixing with Oils: Part 2 by Craig Whitaker
In addition, I recommend regularly checking out and posting to our Oil Painting forum: Painting with Oils
Also check out the following threads:
John's Painting Class - Part III
Oil painting video on line
Craig, our Oil Painting host has a bust painting SBS going at the moment. Although the techniques he displays are applied to a 1/10 scale bust in the SBS, they are easily transferred to other scales. Look for the Tarleton Bust Build threads.
