I was a TOW gunner during ODS. The round piece is for the Traversing Unit (TU). The square piece is for the Missile Guidance System (MGS).
This isn't the best picture depicting what you want; but, it does show the MGS (which has the batteries in it) and it is an awesome launch photo. You can clearly see the cables, but not really the attachments. The large one on the left is the comm cable that transmits commands to the missle. The small cable on the right is the battery hookup.
He is holding onto the TU. The missle tube over his shoulder is covered with a kevlar blanket. I always felt like it was Linus' blanket because if the missle malfunctioned and/or blew up in the tube, you were done. A kevlar blanket would do nothing.

I found something that will be a big help.... An electronic version of the TOW Field Manual.
Here is a link the section that talks about hooking up the system on the Humvee.
Hope this helps.

Joe and Pete
That was a fantastic article, as clear as anything I've seen. Perhaps you could do some more for say the 50 cal and grenade launchers hook up for the HMMWV.
Again GREAT article, GREAT use of illustrations and actual model too!

Why thank you Boggie! The article came from personal experience. I've worked on the TOW system, either the Bradley or the ground mount, for the past 15 years.
Glad the article helped out!

Yes a big thanks to Pete and Joe and William a great article and now a PDF file for future use.
Now my problem is I glued the hatch closed so maybe no cables did not know that the cables ran from inside out.
Yes William you are Right if it went a blanket would not help much.
Thanks again knew I could count on you all.
BTW Mighty fine Humvee Pete.

Hi Pete. Good to see you back on the forums. How are things going in the big sand box? Keep your head down and stay safe.

Boggie, those are great photos. I think I will keep them as well. I have a Tamiya M1046 that I will put together once my skill level improves. I intend to make as close to the vehicle I used in ODS as possible. I have some pictures and notes taken from memory. It will be project that needs a lot of love....

IIRC, there is the vehicle power conditioner that is attached to the back of the TC's seat, and the thin cable shown in the pics runs to it.
