Hi Guys
Well being the cheapskate that I am ...I bought a cheepo Esci T-72
Only downside no Instructions ( No big deal)
But this mean no Colour instructions for painting ( This is a big deal)

So do any of you know which colour East German T-72's where painted in
I use mainly Humbrol paints ...But if you know which colour I'd be grateful

Also where the E german versions done in Camoflauge

Cheers

Here is an ex-East German T-72 brought over to Canada...still painted in the three colour East German camouflage.

I am sure you could find other images with some Google searches.

There is a colour plate of an East German T-72M in the Osprey New Vanguard T-72 Main Battle Tank 1974-1993....colours described as East German medium green...which was lighter than Soviet green, light grey, and charcoal black.

I don't know if the Esci T-72 would be the proper version for the three colour cam pattern.

Hi there..uhm..Worm.
First of, it´s great to see another modeller building some NVA armour. Nationale Volksarme armour that is.

The NVA did put a new tri-colour camouflage to use on their armour but it wasnt untill the very late 80´s. Barely 1- 1½ years before the wall came down, if im not mistaking.
Although the most frequently used camouflage used by the NVA was a simple standard (soviet) green. And the sideskirts where all painted black.

Pics of this most often used camouflage is hard too come by and most pics are from exibition tanks like this one:

This is the "real deal".
