My latest find at the local truck stop. An M577.
A few closeups that I found interesting. A freshly painted vehicle already has the paint worn on the inside edges of the drive sprockets and return roller. Take a look at the rubber on the road wheel, don't worry about a clean paint job on your roadwheels. I didn't realize the drive sprockets had rubber on the inside. This vehicle already has a leaking seal. I'll keep an eye out for more armor at the truck stop.

When we got our tank during Desert Storm, they were cammoed in green and black and brown. We repainted them sand. The guys who were volunteered to repaint them were not all that neat , the track and road wheel rubber got a lot of overspray. The paint wore off the track quickly but the roadwheel rubber retained paint on the sides for a long time.

Saw an aussie M113 at a show a few weeks back and they don't care about overspray on the rubber. When she needs a respray mask the glass spray the rest.
this M577 has the same.
and just another pic of the inner rubber of the drive sprocket

Cool find. Great photos. I would submit the as a Gallery 'walk around' addition. They would be great resources. The discussion of rusty tracks comes up every 6-8 months or so.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Really good resources for painting modern armour.
Taking this a bit further it could be assumed that overspray would also have happened during WWII by the different forces. I remember seeing Pz. IV with camouflage paint over the tools.
