I don't want to sound too much like an idiot, but can anyone tell me if there as a typical width to the common streets and roads mmade from stone or cobblestone in the European battle areas?? If so, how wide from sidewalks edge to edge? And does anyone know of any links with good pictures of the street/sidewalk joining, are there gutters on most or just street stones then curb and walk? or if you have any good pictures anything would be truly appreciated.

thanks for any help
Gary

Common widths ? ... it depended more on the age of the particular street. In really older areas 17th, 18th and 19th centuaries, building were usually much closer together, but by the 20th some widening was evident, even to the extreme.
Build your streets, paths etc. to suit your models, unless you really want to show an older narrow street ... let the architecture then carry the theme.

Have to agree with Frank - it depends on the age. Older would go narrower. Also the material they are made of depends on location and age.
What you have to add in is the existance of a sidewalk or not.
As you leave city center your roads get narrower because traffic is not as much an issue.
