Hi guys,

I'd like you to tell me your opinions about my newly finished Sherman M4A1 76mm.
I've just made it OOB, cos if i'd work to develop it , like gun barrel etc..
It was gonna cost a fortune
Please check the rest...i'm waiting for your opinions

Thank you Sherman Sam.

Yes..as i know the major problems are the antenne (gotta be like m4a3), the machine gun has to change, and the trakcs (as u know they are horrible).
All the rest (as they say) is correct. May be a little correction at the left fender on the turret can be done..but normally it's accurate.
But Generally it's a good model. Or seems to me like that cos i'm a shermaholic too :-)
For further pictures i gotta find and post. I will within few days.

Thanx Fabio,

It's painted by Tamiya's spray which is TS-5. Equivalent to humbrol 155 .
And some oil paints then

Thank you Robert.

The tracks are continous vinyl tracks of old Tamiya's "M4".
Nothing aftermarket :-)

M113, your model looks great. I really like the clean weathered paint job.

One thing you could try to do is super glue the upper tracks to the return rollers so they don't look like they're floating above them. It will give the impression that the tracks have weight. No need to add "sag" as U.S. tanks had rather tight tracks.

Gosh, M113 i cannot even use a primer out of spray can, I really cannot cope with that and i mess everything up.
I'll go to have a run with Humbrol 155.
Ciao and thanks a lot again...

M113--Good job on the finish. It looks very good.

ShermanSam--If you are trying to make a fairly accurate M4A1 (76) from the Italeri kit here are a few things to consider:

1) The barrel is dead wrong (Rubio's is a fine replacement).
2) The antenna mount is British.
3) The tools are British and terrible.
4) The tracks stink.
5) The hatch for removing empty shells from the turret (on the left side of turret) should be raised up not sunk in as the kit is. A good illustration of what I mean here is this picture of Steve Zaloga's M4A1 (76):

Other than the few things above, as with any other kit there are small details here and there that could be added, but all in all the Italeri kit is darn good (especially when its age is considered).

1) Thank you avukich

2) Yes..Sherman Sam...I've forgot to tell u that i've changed the tools too.

And if i were u (i couldnt do cos its too hard to order some stuff from overseas) i would do an "M4A1 75 mm" with a great turret, aluminum barrel, workin tracks, and some additional detail sets. Off course this is my opinion. But..this is my dream also :-)

One day i hope...one day !

Thank you kencelot. Yes u're rite. But i havent done it really willingly cos my idea was to make an m4a1 75mm..and i couldnt. And off course the gun barrel was bad..so...
One day i'll realise my dream of a good 75mm (w/hull, turret etc..) :-)
