Here is my just finished (I think) Firefly. It's the Tasca kit built oob with Legend's Firefly stowage added. The Tasca kit went together beautifully and was a joy to build. A simple base is in the works. My knowledge of these tanks is pretty much zero to none and was built as per the instructions. Feedback is welcome.
Thanks for looking!

Hi Mike: that is a very nice kit. YOu did a great job on it too. The two things that stand out to me that you might consider modifying or using on your next model are: 1) the three.50cal ammo boxes on the turret rear box: they look pretty precarious and would easily topple over given the violent movements of the tank or the turret traversing and 2) the VERY heavy rope used to hold everything down. It just doesn't look practical. Why use a heavy rope with a difficult knot when smaller rope would have been easier for the crew?
Just some thoughts for you. Bravo! Nice job!

Mike
Very nice Firefly - you should be proud. Congrats.
As you've built such a nice model, I hate to come over all pedantic and act like a button counter - you've built a lovely 1DP Firefly BUT your crew figure appears to have a British-style cap badge. His beret should have a Polish Army Eagle (clutching an Amazonian shield). Equally, you could have included his rank on his epaulettes - stars if he's an Officer, red and silver braiding if he's a Senior NCO. Although not always the case with frontline troops, he could also have the POLAND shoulder patches - white lettering on red arched background. If you go the whole hog with the insignia, he could also have the regimental collar pennons. Finally, as your crew figure represents the vehicle commander you might think about fitting him out with headphones and mike. Please email me if you want further info on any of the above - I can send you scans of the relevent info.
Like I said at the start, I don't want to come over like some know-it-all idiot. You've produced a lovely model, which you should be very pleased with. I hope my comments on the fig are useful.
All the best and keep it coming.
Cheers
Karol

Hi Mike,
I'll have to agree with Roy's comments. A lovely looking Firefly but I think you'd do better using that thick rope as atow-rope rather than to hold the stowage down.
One other thing, it could be it's just not showing on the pics, but are there tie-downs on all the tools? most noticable are the sledge hammer, axe and pickaxe head.
Happy Modelling
Tom

Terrific Firefly. You should enter it in the Dragon Model of the month competition

LOL: Pat: But doesn't it have to be a Dragon model to enter?

Hi Mike,
Nice to see another Polish vehicle. Great job all round, bit too clean for me lol, lol but excellent work none the less. Would agree on replacing the rope wioth some thinner thread.
Your dirt looks good, but a wee bit too precise for me and you could do with some steel showing throught on the chevrons of the tracks and maybe a flight coating of dust or mud on them.
Hay, what do I know it's a grand looking kit and one to be proud of.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Thanks everone for the comments.
Silly me, I didn't even realize I had built a Polish Firefly! I picked out a marking scheme I liked and like a fool never bothered to read about it...
In the end though, no big deal. I will attempt to make the changes to the crew figure. Also the tie down rope will be replaced (I thought it looked a little heavy duty to me too, but it was the string that came with the stowage set), a tow rope added, as I've seem to overlooked that, and various other changes/improvements. I will post pics when the base is done.
Thanks

LOL: Pat: But doesn't it have to be a Dragon model to enter?
No not at all.
Dragon sponsor the prize - the entries don't all have to be Dragon products.
I hope that misunderstanding hasn't been holding you back Roy

Great looking Sherman you have there ..congrats ..just one thing I noticed and it might just be the camera angle ...the radio box on the back of the turret looks like it is not up against the rear of the turret ...this was welded to the back of the turret on the real thing .
excellent job all round .

Thanks for the comments guys.
I've started reworking some things to help the overall appearance of the tank. Just a few more things to add, and to do something about the figure. Hopefully I'll have it all buttoned up by the end of the weekend. I also started the base, still much to do with it though. Here's where I'm at now:
Thanks for looking, will update soon.
