Cybermodeler has a flyer from Trumpeter with a new PT-76 in 1/35? Has this been anounced in the past and I just missed it?

Yup. It's been announced on all the relevant model building web pages for ages, now. They also plan a couple of T-62 tanks and a series of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.

Hi

Well FWIW, I missed that too. I knew about the BMP-3 and T-62 but not the PT-76 so there ya go.

Hi,

trumpeter announced their kit # 00379 a while ago (few months). It is the early variant with gun without prominent muzzle break. Recently they announced kit # 00381, which has the muzzle break (and is much more popular known).

You can see both here: http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/trumpeter.htm

Curious to see, how trumpeter replicates the main differences between PT-76 and PT-76B. The main gun D-56TM (the one with traditional muzzle break) has been fitted to PT-76 too (not only D-56T). The differences between 76 and 76B were others. Relocated exhaust, different smoke generator and a lot of stuff only visible in the interieur!
