Hi all

I am sure when Academy hear of the name vodnik they shudder. Most of you are probably familiar with the faults in this kit, but I think for $17 ( I live in South Korea) it's a pretty good deal and overlooking the inaccuracies, builds into a nice kit. I picked up the eduard PE for half price at a model festival and the Legends Productions accessory set was pretty cheap too. I was going to use the tracks provided faults and all, but the paint peeled off when I put them on, so I'll go whole hog and get the friul.

I gave it a dusty appearance as if it was travelling along a dry dusty road. I'd already done a red earth look with my centurion, so I wanted to experiment with a "substitute" pigment product they sell here in Korea. It's a very fine white powder you add to paint, so when your diluted paint dries it has a fine dusty appearance. Also it dries lighter. Quite useful because you don't have to buy different pigment powders which can be costly and one bottle sells for around 4-5 dollars and goes a long way.

Anyway, will post more photos when I finish it with some figures.

Looks good to me too. Good job. I too think it can still be built into a very nice model, even with all its faults (most being minor).

Brett - - Very nice job..One small point. The slates on the cot should be aluminum we did away with the woddens ones long before Vietnam. The mermite can looks like the real thing. Magnificent weathering. You turned a nice kit into a work of art. Beat the heck out of that damn expensive, horrible Jaguar Sheridan.
Well done

Funny thing you mentioned the cots. I really didn't do any research except look at a few photos on the net. I didn't know that they were cots, so I originally painted them according to the box photos - no wood. Later I saw a photo of them folded up and guessed that they were cots. Although, I don't remember the website, I'm sure they were wooden with metal brackets and it was in Vietnam, so I painted the legs wood. I'll try looking for it later. If I can find it, I'll post it. I take your word for it they were all metal.

Anyway, thanks for the comments guys. Just one more thing also if anyone knows, I noticed on the inside of the Sheridan tracks before I tossed them, they had "pads" - are these metal or rubber like the outside pads?

Cheers

Brett -

Great looking Sheridan. You've done a nice job with the weathering and the placement of the stowage, looks good.

Looking forward to the pictures with the tracks on. Regarding whether the inside pads are metal or rubber, I'm not sure, sorry couldn't help with your question.

Cheers!

You might have finished this tank already but the sand bags have a very smooth texture, i'd roughen them up a bit. Lots of detail which is good.
