I think the base looks really good mate. The muddy surface I think looks realistic
One small nitpick would be to have had the jerrycan aligned 90degrees to how it presently is, as it kind of points to the wheel, making it all look a bit too symmetrical being square with the track marks? Or even to add another small object near it to break up the uniformity...
What is the story behind the Stars and stripes being unfurled on the ground? It looks great by the way, but how did it get there...
Cheers
Brad
P.S. What camera do you use? Check for a macro setting...

Try taking your photographs outside (i.e under the veranda or in the shed) where the natural light really improves picture quality, no matter how bad the camera is.
I really like the mud, good job.

Looks great so far mate,
The flag on the ground gives it a dramatic feel and the mud looks great.
Thought about the setting? I think the Ardennes would suit you quite well. A quick bit of research will find you some info about the German's initial victories in overunning the US positions and help you choose a title, perhaps based on one of the battles centred around the villages there?
I also think the corner opposite the flag looks a little empty, how about placing something there like a US mortar or .50 cal on a tripod to fill the space and give the feel of a position being overrun?
By that rationale i'd also have the soldier holding his rifle to give the impression that danger is near (hence he is advancing at a crouch) as its placement on his back gives the impression he is not expecting to see any action (- so why is he crouching?).
A great start here, a couple of tweaks and you'll have a great little scene on your hands!

Great little dio there. As said, the mud looks great and I like the pose on the figure.
As far as a name goes, how about:
'S**t, I dropped my flag!'
Keep up the good work.
