I am working on my M4A3 (76) W sherman and have a few questions
1. interiors in Shermans were white correct?
2. what tracks would be apropriate for a Sherman serving in Patton's relief force in the Ardennes?
3. did the Shermans have canvas or other material between the turret and the cannon's base plate?
My grandfather was in the 35ID, 134th IR which was sucked under Patton for a spell and I have a photo of my Grandfather in the Ardennes
thanks.

A few answers:
1 - yes but hatches were OD on the inside as well
2 - I have seen T48 (rubber Chevron), T 54 (Steel Chevron) and even T51 (Rubber block) on 4 & 6 Div Shermans. Check the Concord books on BoB or US Tank Battles France, Sherman in Action Vol 1 & 2 etc.
3 - Mantlet covers were rare excepting on wading vehicles but there is some evidence to support the limited use of Mantlet covers very late in WW2. For your purposes I'd say no.
Cheers
Al

got back to working on my sherman (DML kit 6255) and am wondering if anyone has built and reviewed this thing? some of the gaps between the lower and upper hull are odd. especially back by the exhaust deflector.

Thanks!
I am working on the exhaust deflector and panels around it as well as figuring how to fill the weld troughs

Johm, I use .015x.020 styrene strip for the weld seams. Cut it to length, glue it down, wait to dry thoroughly. Soak again in liquid cement, and texture with a knife blade. Easy, if somewhat tedious. Make sure you have good ventilation happening.
