Hi guys! Less than a month ago I got Tamiya's FAMO as a birthday present. My question is waht do you think I can use as a flatbed cover. In the instructions, Tamiya suggests to use paper, but I think it would look much nicer made out of cloth. Do you have any suggestions?
Kind regards,

Sebastian

Non-textured tissue soaked in watered down white glue has been used to good effect in several models I have seen. I have heard that high quality silk is also good. There are articles on this technique in the article section. I have tried lead foil to make rolled up tarps, it seems to work okay.

I suggest you try the transparant kitchenfoil that you use to seal food leftovers. You can cut it easily, bend it easily, it`s static so it sticks on itself, and you can paint it easily. great stuff have a try out with it

hope it is of some help

I would opt for the tissue paper solution. It's what I'm used to.
I am intrigued by Faust's latest idea of using plastic wrap. I will be trying that soon.

the tarp that I made for my Stug 40 F is made of the kitchenfoil and I can tell you it works amazing.

Faust - any particular brand of wrap that you use? I am thinking the one I have currently is a bit thin it gets stuck on itself to easily just trying to wrap up a sandwich.

Then it`s excatly the stuf where I`m talking about. Don`t know anything bout brands bit the very thin static stuff should do the trick

What I did was cut out a section that was twice the size needed. folded it straight on. and then bended one corner back. no glue just paint. and voila you have a nice tarp for whatever you want

Faust
I'll give it a try - matter of fact I could use a tarp in Splash. Thanks.
