Here is an update on one of my dioramas. I still need to make a few touch ups and add the British infantry. All Comments welcome!

Nice story but could do with a bit more Brits. I understand you're adding those figures.
One thing though, those trees could do with a bit of roughening up. Ruffle them, cut them, make them look less like christmas trees.

Nice one.
As already said, the trees could use some "work".
Nice selection of figures and vehicles. keep it up and keep us posted.

Nice to see some Brits in action.
I would add the additional British soldiers to the right side in the trees. This will give you a wide front covering the barn and it will fill in the space.
If you can, I would stand the German up that is leaning against the barn. He looks a bit stiff to be leaning. A touch of glue under his foot and he should stand fine.
You could also add a bit of various green shades to the trees. Add some dark color in here and there.
Keep up the diorama building, I like what I see.

Don't forget to add some abandoned equipment etc. make the scene look 'used' as if the Germans have put up a bit of a fight defending the place, they would have thrown down their weapons in front of them too.
The sherman looks excellent, as does the SAS jeep. can't see enough of the horch? to comment, however, i'd say a couple of washes wouldn't go amiss, same for the figures, some variation in the fieldgray uniforms would stop them looking, well, so uniform!
Hat's off to you with the base and farm I must say, they are very impressive. Love the rocks in the field too.
Keep up the good work,
James

Hi Ken
This dio is very nice. Its great to see so much british stuff in the forums at the minute! However my one question is the jeep, I seem to recall that this is a Commando/SAS jeep. From my limited knowledge I wouldnt have thouught that the SAS would be opperating with regular troops using a firefly. Personally i would use one of tamiyas jeeps and just have it as regular forces and not SAS. Just my 2p. Nick

Thanks for all of the comments! I still have a lot of touch- up to do. I don't have anything fastened down as of yet, just was seeing how every thing would be layed out.

Yeah, the SAS Jeep does seem out of place. A Tamiya Universal Carrier instead perhaps? I like it though except that it is very similar to a diorama concept I had already drawn up to do myself - same German's, same barn (but different Brit vehicles).
I take that back. Don't use the Universal Carrier.

Great minds think alike If yall think that it would be better without the Commando car I could do it that way. What do you think?

The Commando Jeep really is out of place with the Firefly. A couple of Commando Jeeps and no Firefly sure, that works all day long. A standard Jeep, a Carrier, a Humber or even a halftrack would make good alternatives to the SAS vehicle. A really cool idea if you could scare one up would be the long OOP Italeri Kangaroo APC - but that might be a bit large for the scene.

Those German figures could do with a coat of matt varnish, their uniforms are very shiny.
Has their been a gun battle? Guessing by the wounded German, that's a yes? If so, maybe you should add some battle damage to the barn, and like was said earlier, some abandoned German weapons.

Really like the hay spread out on the groundwork but I think that the Pig swill should be messier i.e Muddy and churned. Also take your pics outside where the detail comes out better.
