When I started this build I had added some Gargoyles on some of the corners of the structure. Alot of people didn't think they went with the timber and stone look of the structure. They were right, just didn't " fit " , they would be more suited to something castley, or churchy.
Well, being stubborn I made a fountain with two Gargoyles as the water spouts.
If the person that I'm building this for dosen't like them then I'll 86 em, and offer it up for anyone that could use it. As a matter of fact they're not to hard to build if anyone could use something like it in their dio let me know.

They work here. One design thought is that you could drop the height down about 4mm and allow for the edges to be benches.

Mornin Scott, thanks, the build is kinda a done deal, I had planned on putting benches around the inside perimiter of the open area. That's todays task - to make the stone walls and stairs. Oh, and to make the flagstone flooring, ........... and about a million other things l.o.l.

Hi Glenn,
They work in the fountain, ok, but in my opinion not near a Biergarten in Bavaria or anywhere else in Germany.
Perhaps in Transylvania, but i do not see this theme in Germany as fountain figures.

I think you need to go for a very generous artistic licence to show them in this setting.
Also two of them in this tight space looks a bit crowded.
But that's just my opinion.

Cheers
Claude

Hi Claude, now that I have the lower stone walls and the upper walls [ to be bricked ] placed, the dam fountain [ Gargoyles or no ] looks to big. You were right, too tight, too big for the area !!!!!
Do you think I can still use the fountain [ minus Gargoyles, l.o.l. ] and sculpt some smaller fish or something ?
If not I'll have to make a smaller fountain and try to find something to use as a spout, a maiden or fish or something.
Glenn

Good morning Glenn,

Is that supposed to be a courtyard in front of the house? Stairs will lead to it on the right side (not finished)?
Depending on what is supposed to come on the overall left side behind the wall, you may, in order to reuse at least the fountain, cut it approx. in half and put it against the left wall with a single figure facing the stairs.
Maybe lion as figure would be better suited, as this is in the ensign of Bavaria.
But i am wondering if a Café had this kind of status to put such a prestige fountain in it's courtyard. It would be better positioned in a village's center.
For a café something like this would IMO be "enough"

Another solution would be to put a smaller, but rounf fountain in the middle of the courtyard with a fish or a frog as spoutter. But tha'ts even more work.

Hope it helps

Cheers
Claude

What figure is that? Really unusual to see a model figure of a British soldier in a pullover (even though it was really common during the war)

Claude, thanks, splitting the fountain is a good idea. I could place it on the left side opposite the [ eventual ] stairs. The " country " type is also doable, as is a less ornate round one in the center.
The figure is for size refs., it is one of a pair of Verlinden Desert Dudes.
