Hello All,
Here are a couple of images showing the new USMC LAV A2 configuration. Notice that there are loads of changes. I will do a blog or review of this in the next week or two. I've taken about 120 images and will start posting them.

That's great Andreas...it should add some great extra protection for the crew.
So, how long do you figure before someone asks if a conversion set or kit is being worked on or released...or have you already been asked?
Thanks for posting the images. I am sure your info will be great.

This would make a great conversion, the rails containing the brackets on the side are the same as those on the LAVIII & Stryker, so they could be used here as well. The only components that really need to made from scratch are the armor panels, the crosswind sensor is the JTEC version used on M1A1 series tanks. The only other item would be the new sight head for the gunners side. I will cover this in my review/blog of the vehicle.

I am working on a feature article at the moment. I am busy cropping the pictures and taking some close-up shots to call out some specific detail. I will try to post some more pictures over the next couple of days.

Hi Andy
Just came across this one on Flikr.com (taken in September 2007 ):
(the large one is HERE )
It definitely looks like an A2 but the muffler appears to be the short one seen on LAV-AD and not the new one .

Yes,
A couple of the units were sent in with only the Armor Modification. If you look closely you will still see the vision blocks in the troop compartment. In the new version they were removed as well as the new style muffler and lots of other upgrades. I'm still on the road and am working on the article.

Frenchy, can you please post the link if there are any other LAV photos from that Flikr album?
Is that a version of the CLSM antenna mounted?
The raised armoured vision blocks around the turret hatch looks great.

Here's the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelrbyrd/ but that's the only LAV picture... On a side note I've got a few pics showing LAVs fitted with the glazed armor panels on the turret top (not A2s...). I can send them to you if need be....
