I recently bid on an Eastern Express ZiS42 half track, set the bid higher than I normally would for safety sake. Got outbid with what I thought was an already high amount. When I checked Squadron mail order and a couple of other sites I saw very few 1/35 items available from this manufacturer or, more commonly, none at all.
Are they leaving the 1/35 market? Anyone know what the story is with them?
I see 1/72 scale stuff being offered still but I will miss their 35th scale stuff as they were usually doing subjects that were only offered in rather expensive cottage industry manufacturers.

Their molds, not sure how many, were purchased by Alanger. Look for most EE kits to be re-released from them.
Also, I by my stuff from Alanger US They take a bit of time and they do not really answer e-mail, but I have ordered a lot of stuff from them without a problem.

I run a small shop and I am set up with them and can do a little better then there prices. However if you order today they are having a 60% off sell that is below my cost but it ends today.

Eastern Express is aparently back in buisness. They just released plastic track set for KV tanks covering vehicles from late prototypes to KV-1S. There are some other sets pending; one is track set for JS-2 mod 1944. Who knows maybe they are going to re-issue their late AFV kits (I would like to see their PT-76B in plastic)

I am sure that the AFV molds were sold to Alanger...that is why the BMD series is now in lalnger boxes.
Maybe EE just sold out and are starting over with something new...tracks. I would rather see Alanger re-issue the PT-76, although if Trumpeter do release their kits, they are likely to be better than the EE setup.

Great responses!
I'd welcome some Soviet AFV tracks as I'm finding the Friul and Modelkasten offerings a little on the pricey side.
Thanks for the tip on Alanger, I was able to get an order in before the sale ended.
The most recent Finescale listed the Trumpeter PT-76 as a release for November.

Hmm, PMMS, referring back to manufacturer, lists PT-76B to be released somewhere in January 2008. But November is fine too
At this point I'll be glad if trumpeter starts to inflate market with Soviet armor, regardless of accuracy, like they did with their KV wave followed by Kub (too bad missiles are screwed) forcing others to compete. Looks like Tamiya prepares to strike back soon....
