ok here is the first update to the dio, no where near complete but got some painting done and it's getting close to ready to glue some pieces together. i have not added any rubble or debris so far and the weathering needs to be completed on the buildings. so far no ideas on the figures or vehicles but hopefully he ideas will pour in soon.
thanks for looking any comments are appreciated.

I really like the building ruin. The colors blend really nicely. The colors of the road are really pleasing.
One thing that I see is the uniformity of the joint in the road. I would get a bit of putty or rubble and break up the seam lines in the road. They look like they are extentions of the short segment of road coming down to the front of the diorama.
Whats the white(ish) piece on the far left?

Hey Scott,
i was hoping for the look of one road being used a bit more and sunken at the edge but i see what you mean it seems a bit extreme and uniform, what do you think about maybe sanding a bit off then adding some rubble? as for the white spot, thats where the floor sits on the footer base around the house and i sanded for a better fit, had not repainted yet it will most likely be covered by debris in the end. it was nothing that was meant to be part of the dio. glad you like the color choices so far i was torn about the building color, i have tried to find good color pics of houses and shops but most things are b&w from the time. as i find more links and books with colors i hope to try more variations.
thanks again for the response,
Gary

Nice work Gary, I see what Scott means about the interlocking seams. I don't think you have to go as far as sanding, random debris should hide it.

Gary -
Looking good so far, I think it will blend together nicely once some debris/rubble is thrown on there, as well as a vehicle (or 2) and a handful of figures are added. You've got a good start, looking forward to the progress pics! Also like the way the building is done, nice blend of the wall colors.
Cheers!
