Hi! Any of you modelers who had this figure set had this problem?
The figure is from my Miniart T-70M Late prod:
One of the figures had this leg in a not so good quality:
Another view with the other leg dry fitted:
Note also the a$$ of the badly moulded leg. Seems like a very large gap when the torso is applied.
All my other figures from the set are a-ok except this one.
Anyone had this problem?

Hey Ralph,
It's probably just a one off, poorly molded set of figures.
I have the same MiniArt figure set and there's no problem with any of the figures save for a bit of flash.
A little putty and a bit sculpting should fix the problem.
Cheers

looks like a bit of a 2 sided "short shot" the plastic met but didn;t fill the mold from both ends...........

I got a set of the Russian Infantry from Miniart and it suffered with similar faults, plastic not filling the mould. Also very heavy flash and some sink marks.
I even photographed them and sent via email to Miniart for their response.....nothing.
I was certainly going to buy other sets as they do some interesting poses etc. but reluctant to do so now I'm sorry to say.
I must have over a dozen Dragon figure sets and a handful of Tamiya ones ( new stuff) and none suffer with this poor level of quality.
As I said, a shame because I was interested in buying more, but the lack of response from Miniart means I won't bother.

Ralph
you should take them back to where you got them or if you bought them online you should send an email with photos.
Alan
the early Infantry sets from mini art were terrible but you shouldn't be put off buying the newer sets which are a lot better - despite Ralph's case, I have most of the mini art releases and they are very good in my opinion.
If you are buying a figure set in a shop then ask to open it before you hand over the cash

I got them from a local hobby shop... months ago I don't know if they'll accept it anymore. Maybe I'll try to write to Miniart for some answers.

Hi Pat
I don't think they are that old a set, Soviet Infantry on the March Set number 35002.
Any idea when this set came out?
It's not the poses, or the level of detail that I'm complaining about, it's what appears to me to be poor manufacturing standards and quality.

I've uploaded the photos to my gallery I sent to MiniArt, quality and it being reversed is down to it being my web cam rather than my digi camera, but nonetheless the faults are plain to see.
Alan
Edit....well I thought I did and it did show them but can't see them now, where they've gone beats me !

Yes that's what I thought, that set was badly cast and moulded, I have them and replaced the heads, hands and equipment when I used them, the newer sets are way ahead of them in quality.

Not much left of what you brought then
Yes, but they are still shown in their current range of products, and no doubt still being brought, maybe off the back of the good reviews given to their latest sets. I know that's why I have these.
Disappointed.
Alan
P.S managed to hopefully show the quality with images in my workbench album.

I've got a couple of the Soviet Infantry on the march sets.
Other than a little flash, there's no problems with the ones I have.
The details are a bit soft and the faces are a bit crude but that's what you sometimes get with a manufacturer's earliest releases.
MiniArt's stuff has improved remarkably in the past few years, don't write them off because of one bad set of figures.
If everyone did that, Dragon, Italeri, AFV Club and many others including Tamiya would be in trouble.
Cheers

Should Tamiya really be considered when talking about 1/35 figures?

Henk.
I meant their kits overall.
If everyone were to completely write off of a manufacturer because of a bad experience, with a single kit, it could put some companies out of business.
