Hi guys,
Finally started building somthing again.
It's going to be a M-109 from aroun 1980.
A basic M-109 plus some IDF mod's
It's Italeri's kit plus a barrel depot barrel, and I still have to order the AFV tracks.
Done most of the basic construction. After I finish that I'll start on the mod's
Going for this:
Foto uit Steven Zaloga's Tank Battles of the mid-east wars 2
The Italeri kit is an oldy so ther is a lot of filling and sanding, but it does build nice and quick
I am using a model in The Verlinden way Vol. V as a sort of reverence to what needs to be modifide.
Hint's and tips are alway welcome.

Looking forward to seeing more. Always a fan of good IDF subjects. One very small thing you may want to do is remove the oxbow shaped stowage box forward of the turret. After removing it, there'll be some bolt heads to put on the hull. And if you elect to remove it, the lugs on the front of the hull need to go to, (They should actually be small pieces of tubing anyway.

nice photo,
What "lug" do you mean?
As for the oxbow shaped storage box, My reference doesn't show it so I'll have to figure out if it stays or has to go.
Thank you for youre input

I red on ML that the Bradley IFV uses the same size wheels and tires as the M109. That would mean that you could probably use the Eduard Bradley wheel mask to paint the M109 wheels (which come with not too wel defined rims).
Looking forward to the updates.

You probably could, but you'd be throwing money away. The "hole reinforcers" used for loose leaf paper are the perfect size. Spray base color first, mask, then hit with black.

There's probably a good tweaks somewhere, but here's another that occurred to me-There are two long protrusions on the top of the turret. One is sort of "L" shaped, and stays, (unless you build the old M108) but the other rectangular one is a badly represented spare barrel bag for the .50 cal. Cut it off as well, and add either tie downs, are a better representation of the bag.
When removing this and/or the oxbow box, fill the underside with CA first, as the plastic will be very thin.

Hmmm, starting to think I opened a can of worms with this idea
I am going to have to do a lot of more research.
as for the .50 cal. box that won't be so dificult to remove (going to use .30 cal any way so there is no need for .50 cal. spare part box )
thanks for al your input.
