It’s my understanding the muffler supplied with the trumpeter kit is no longer up to spec with what’s being used on LAV’s in OIF.
I’ve checked Prime Portal but it seems like they only have shots of the “old” style muffler.
Does anyone have some good reference photos of what the current OIF LAV’s – I know there are some other modifications that have to be done besides the muffler.
Is there a conversion set in resin?
Thanks,
Noah

Thanks Matt,
But those photos are labeled as LAV-A2, I was under the impression that the “Original” LAV-25’s were still being fielded in Iraq albeit with some modifications to the muffler etc. Is that not the case? Do the mufflers look the same as the one on that LAV-A2?

Noah you can take a look at Brandon Wright's SLEP photo album on Webshots to see the mods:

His other Webshots albums are very useful too (if you need OIF LAV pics)
If need be, I can send you a few early OIF pics of LAVs fitted with the "old" muffler as in Trumpeter's kit(and with the non-flutted barrel as well) or with the "new" one (not the most recent one shown on the "A2" pics) ...

Thanks for all your help with my LAV questions French.
I actually went to my local hobby shop and ended up with BOTH a LAV-25 and the LAV AD so I should be putting all those reference shots to good use.
One last question, do you know why the muffler on the LAV-AD is so much more compact than the ones found on standard LAV-25’s. Aren’t they essentially the same vehicle just with different armament? Seems strange, did the LAV-25 ever use that small muffler or vice versa?
Thanks again,
Noah

There will be some old versions in Iraq, the new LAV-A2 will appear as the units get trained on their use and rotate into theater. Within the next two years all LAV's will be modified/upgraded.
