Is there a manufacturer that does ready-made slings for rifles, submachine guns, BARs etc. in either 120 mm (1/16) scale or 1/35?
WWII stuff and / or earlier (I'm not into the modern stuff so much).
I know I can make them from lead foil, but the buckles and metal bits always cause me grief and I'd rather shell out a few Euros for some decent ready-mades than waste time fiddling about with my own creations.
Thanks in advance for any pointers,
- Steve

Steve,
Verlinden make/used to make a photo-etch set 'Buckles, Straps & Tie-downs, kit # 433.
And I'm sure if you look at the other photo-etch company sites (e.g. Eduard) you'll find similar.
Good Hunting!

Steve,
You'd think that rifle slings would be a natural for PE, huh? But as far as I know nobody makes complete slings. I agree that using foil and fussy PE buckles and bits is a royal pain, but as of now that's all we can do, and I seriously don't look forward to doing it, especially for a half dozen troops!.

Hi Al,
Well, there you go! Learn something new every day. That looks like a real time saver. The helmet straps are also a very welcome product.
Thanks for the info!

Hi Barry,
Here's an even cheaper method. Rolled lead wire 99p a packet. 0.04mm is about right for slings, flexible. consistant width and you only need a wall paper roller.
If you want broader straps, just get bigger wire!!
Then you only need buckles.
Not a very good picture buit you can see the slings
Cheers

Alan,
Many thanks for that link.
Tom suggested Eduard, and I've now discovered that they do indeed make both German and US slings - but only in 1/35.
So the VLS Techstar straps and slings in 120 mm are an especially welcome find.
Nice one!
