Hello everyone,

Here is my latest project I'm working on. It is a nice kit to build! I'll building this beauty with her transport carriages and still the gun in fire position. It was possible but the feet has to be down and the gun has a turnrange just 10 degrees to the left and right. Is this realistic?? Or should I turn the gun more towards the longest feet (to the transport carriage)???? I asked enough for now, happy looking!

Kind regards,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Update!!

The flak itself is finished now, the cariage are my next step. Also I will make any mistakes you can see, like flash and so on, and will remove all the access glue.

All comments are mostly welcome!

Sorry for my poor english!

Kind regards,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

After a lot of screaming, yelling, and whining the front cariage is done without all the tools and stuff.
The kit didn't re-present the option to turn the angle of the wheel, so, that is al the yelling about.

I hope you like it because it was a pain in the @$$ !

Joke, just tell me what you are thinking.

One question though, how can I remove the horrible seamline on the rubber wheels?? Also the attachment point into the wheel where a piece of molden rubber was. I can I remove that without any concequents for detail??

Kind regards,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Hilbert -

Looks good to me so far! Have this kit in the "works", but haven't done much with it lately, as I messed up the placement of the barrel and need to take it apart, to fix it...yeah, that's going to be fun!

Not sure how to get rid of the seams on the rubber tires, maybe a sharp xacto blade, or some "dirt/mud" when it comes time to weather!

Thanks for sharing, will keep an eye on your updates! Cheers!

what you could do is take a piece of sand paper and rough up the tirs a bit around the center line , and then take a match and heat up the tire a bit to show the ground pressure created by the weight of the 88

Ola!

It was a bit of time consuming for me to make a hardedge camo, so I hope you like it. I did it with some masking tape for painters. I was difficult.
The next step is weathering.

I hope you like it and please, let me read your thoughts. Always a fun way to learn things.

Kind regards,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Well, here is the beginning of a long time of chipping. I would like to know what I can do better about this. Hope you'll like it.
There will be dark brown chips in it so the model will come to life.

Thanks for looking!!

Kind regards,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Hi Hilbert. Good to see you back again!! The gun is looking great and so is the hard edged camo.
A tip for removing the ribber nibs from your wheels. Freeze the wheels for a few hours in your freezer and then slice them off. Both rubber and plastic become more brittle when really cold, and this should eb much easier to do.

Hellow,

I chipped the flak further and I hope it will look realistic. I want to know what your thoughts are.
I will paint some more chip on the flak itself. Also there will be dark grey chips in the light chips just for realism.

Hope yuo will like it!

Kind regard,

Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Ps, I hope I will get a stand for my camera soon!

Excellent job!! I just love Flaks and have this one also waiting in the pile. I built the dragon 37 last year and found a really nice build. Have you found any major issues with this one? I'd really like to know since I am planning on starting on it in a couple of months.

Thanks,

Rob

Hello Rob,

Be carefull with the gunblock. That was the hard part of the kit. Also if you want to hang the flak into the cariages, take the time and be patiend. Further it was really fun to build but you need some moddelling skills! It is more difficult then the dragon 37 version.

The parts are also very small and there are a few pinmarks. Also they are molded in a very thick frame! So be carefull when removing them.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards, Hilbert

Ps, I used two kits for this one because the other has landed on the wall.... so I used somethimes 4 (!!!!) parts instead of 2. I was glad I had 2 kits.
