Okay be nice!..I'm a car builder and this is my first attempt at a military scene this is in 1/72 and man this stuff is small!..I'll be happy to go back to quarter scale, but this was a fun diversion from the usual and I might try something again. My previous dio builds were garage scenes so the groundcover was pure experimentation, and any resemblance to actual terrain in Iraq is pure speculation and imagination ...The HVEE's are Dragon and the figs. are Preiser The M113 is a Forces of Valor diecast(OK so I cheated a little) I originally tried to find a "referance" pic. to go on, but ultimately just went with my idea of a scene depicting an off the main road checkpoint. I'm sure their are many inaccuricies but it's my "story" and I'm stikin' to it pics. below

Love to see the cross-over project! And to boot - goin' small scale.
Ok - so it's not historically accurate, it's not scenically accurate. On a 'fun diversion' project like this you're not going for that and that's fine.
I really like to quantitiy of figures in this, they are everywhere. There is a lot of detail too.
My only critique is the size, you could have chopped off about 3" on either side and this diorama would have focused the viewer right down on the road and into the action.
You know what would be cool - a front photo eye level down the road.

Thanks for the critique Scott..and space wise losing 6" would'nt have hurt but the base is an oval and I don't know if I would want to cut it up, I also wanted the space to practice making groundcover since I have never done it before

Brian - yea - I know what mean about practicing. Practice is better to do than to worry about a bit of oversize.
Next time, or on a more serious project.
