For my birthday I got the Tamiya T-55, Eduard PE, Fruil Tracks, Fruil DshK, and a Fine Molds Barrel, but are there any refs out there for this beast? I am aware of the VP book, but are there others?

There are two really good ones, but I think, they are both OOP.
Concord Publications # 2013: T- 54, T- 55, T- 62
Tank Magazine: The first post war generation of Soviet MBTīs- T- 54/55/62
How good is the Fine Molds barrel? Didnīt see it yet- HLJ also has it not listed.

Thanks for the tips.
It's pretty impressive. I haven't tried mating it to the turret yet, so I can't comment on fit, but it is fairly detailed for a relatively simple barrel. It has rifling on the inside of the barrel which is definitely a nice touch.
As far as where I go it, I asked my Mom and she said she got it from Mission Models, so you might wnat to try there.

On the front page of this site is a link to a copy of the T-55 training manual in .pdf format.
UPDATE OK there was one, but it is gone now, I think I still have a copy. PM me if you would like me to send it to you.

If you go back a few pages in this forum, you will see a thread called "My new T55 has arrived!"
You will find some links to T55 material in there. You will also find some good in-progress info about the kit. And, Gunnie has posted photos of his kit in progress and a few of mine as well. Feel free to post to this thread, there's some good info there.
Oh, the DsHK in the Tamiya kit is awesome. I've heard its better than some of the aftermarket ones out there...

AFV Modeler #9 has some great refernce matrial on the T-55. It is the current issue, so if your local hobby store carries it, I say pick it up.
