Hi...i'm trying to paint my first german camo. Here's the in progress result.

Can anyone please advise me on how to "fade" the green part, so that it'll "blend" more into the yellow base ? I tried matt-cote it, but it just wont "dull" enough.

Thank you..

Toon,

A general wash, and a spray of buff, then some pastel chalk will tone it down a lot. HTH.

Hola!

To make the two colors blend together better you can apply a 'filter' of oils or enamels. A filter is a very diluted wash that goes all over the model.

What I do when painting uniforms is to add the base color with the camo colors to get some coherence between the colors. In this particular case this would be adding Dark Yellow to the Dark Green to lighten it and blend them together more.

Hope this is of some help

Anders, am i to make a diluted mixture of dark yellow and green; then apply it all over; or just near the green pattern only ??

Thanks for the quick reply

Hola!

My bad! I wasn't very specific! The filter should be a different color then the ones you used to paint with. I would suggest a very diluted dark brown (like 10% paint to 90% Thinner). This should help bring the colors together.
