Well I was sitting around reading a WWII magazine...vintage 1943 and I saw some images of dug in trenches and a lot of them had ply wood to strengthen them or as flooring so troops would not fall in mud. Well I was doing some trial and error and realized tooth picks were perfect to simulate the ply wood if you cut off the sharp ends and make them look more flat. I'm hoping to this on a diorama when I have the time and money.

You could always "borrow" some coffee stirring sticks from your local McDonalds or Starbucks! These make excellent floor boards andscale timber ... just cut off the spoon end. Save these as well as they make pretty nice slates for a roof!

Or you could make it yourself with evergreen.. It's super easy to do and it looks good.

Aye, I deliver pizza part time. Sadly enough it pays the bills, puts food on the table, etc. Kids have their toys, wife has hers, and I have mine. Heck I even just bought a brand spanking new Kimber .45 a few weeks ago.

Whenever we go to Krispy Kreme and pick up some donuts, I always grab a handful of their coffee sticks on the way out. Thin strips of wood and donuts, you can't beat that.

Balsa wood or basswood sheets are also good and they are not too expensive. A sheet is only going to run you a few dollars, as opposed to piecing together lots of coffee stirrers or tooth picks.
I would even bet a good sheet of white cardboard would do the trick if it is painted and weathered correctly. Raid the Christmas box storage instead!
