Aloha everyone!
I was browsing the AEF website and came across this conversion for what appeared to be an Israeli Stryker. First of all I didn't even know the IDF used Strykers and secondly upon reading about this system wondered out loud why other armed forces haven't picked up on it.
Does anyone have this conversion and if so how good is it? I know AEF is usually hit and miss so is this one a hit or a miss?
Thank you in advance!!
Kurt

Hi Kurt. Speak of the devil. I have the conversion kit and by what I see, it looks okay to me but I'll have to be sure. One thing I do not like is that they did not include was the conversion RWS mount. That would take some intricate scratchbuilding. I wanted to start on it but decided to put it on hold to build the ATGM.

Hi Charles - would you consider posting some pics of the AEF kit? Also, is the RWS for the IDF the same as the US one? If so, then AFV Club and Voyager Models both produce a AWS mount for the .50 cal or the Mk 19 grenade launcher.
Bob
EDIT - never mind, I see it's the 'Trophy' system you're both talking about....sorry.

The RWS is not the same. Here's a pic of the Mini-Samson RCWS: http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/rcws/RCWS.html

Looks similar to what we're (Canada) putting on the M113A3/TLAVs:

Charles
It would be great if you could post photos of your AEF kit parts.

Beware of AEF business Practices he (Tony Englehart) ripped me off for a Half Track Conversion that he lied about being in stock and never delivered even though he was paid with a Postal Money Order. Not only is his stuff hit ot miss, getting what you pay for is also hit or miss. If you find a Hobby Shop that has it you should be OK but direct from AEF is taking a Chance with your money. I have all the e-mails proving this and it is being looked into by the Postal Inspectors as it was reported as a Fraud by Postal Money Order.
