Hola Neil,
I think that you are referring to the Camelbak, which is a hydration system that hooks onto the Interceptor bodyarmor or is used with houlder straps. Im not sure what colors were available early in the war, but I would guess they were available in the 3 tone DCU's, woodland camo, tan and green.

They were also available in black.

Neil,
Head over to Camelbaks web sight and you can see most of whats available or you can even go to the Cav Stores web sight or Ranger Joes web sight to see what else is available. Ander's is right, but depending on the style. The figures you are talking about could have the 3 tone woodland camo, 3 tone dcu camo, the green and black, or the all black ones.

Hotlink to the US Cav page:
http://www.uscav.com/category.aspx?catid=58&TabID=1 There's a lot of styles! Good place to check for camo reference too.
