Hey Mark

I like to use US Sand #3052 by Aircraft Colors. It looks bang on to me. I think It might be a North American version of Vellejo but I am not sure.

Mark,
They're not pinkish, they are just tan. I always said seeing is believing:

Here are some colors I tried to match it with.

The colors are from right to left; vallejo=usa tan-earth, vallejo=tan yellow,
tamiya= buff, tamiya= flat flesh, vallejo= light brown, model master= afrika braun 42. My bet for closest match is the Afrika Brau 42 or the vallejo tan yellow. Hope this helps.

As Gary says, they are a variety of colors. They can still be seen in black, pinkish-sand, tan-sand, and dark green.

Dark Green? I've seen the Plastic water cans in black and tan but the only ones I saw painted green where the metal ones with the big flip lid. Of course I led a sheltered life being a Marine. And no Marine will ever say their water can was PINK, even if it was.

Miloslav,
I stand corrected. I never saw one in plastic before now. How long have they been making them in Green?

Hi

thanks for all the replys, they were very helpful, im going to stick with the 'FLESH' colour ( not pink) for what i need. OIF 2003 invasion period.

i remember all our ( brit ) jerrycans were always black. only changed colour if we painted them.

thanks again
