Hi guys,
I'm making a little diorama of some Germans fortifying a road leading into Warsaw, September 1940. Here are my reference pictures. Is that snow on the ground? It looks like it to me, what do you think?

Although it might look like snow I'm more leaning to the fact that it is just a very light groundcolor.
In the top picture the soldier nearest to the viewer looks to be wearing a normal Soldiers tunic and not the wintergear that you really want to have in that climate when it is snowing. I think for the book they enhanced a bit too dark picture so the details would show up better... But They went a bit over the top and now the groundcolor looks indeed like snow.

I agree with Robert, it's just light ground color.

Yeah, I guess so. When does it start snowing in Poland anyway?

Not in September...
BTW, should that be September 1939 rather than 1940?
Cheers
