Very good job - especially considering the scale. The exhaust staining on the rear might be a little overdone, but that is just a little nick pick that does not attract attention from a very nice Tiger and diorama.

Thanks for sharing

Outstanding work on getting the grass and foilage to scale and the very convincing stones in the clay mud tracks. The model looks great too! You could pass it for 1/35th

Actually, some more questions about your excellent little vignette.

What did you use for foliage?

cheers and thanks

Tx guys !

I like to combine all sorts of foliage. I study reference photos before I start and it works for me. The trees are just regular sea foam branches painted and dipped in wood glue (thinned down with water) and completed with fine foliage.

Oh yeah, I have painted the wooden base in a flat black from a spray can.

It looks better now.

Tomorrow I show the new situation.

Is that woodland scenics foliage you used?

I am always looking at alternatives and techniques as I reckon it is all part of the diversity of our hobby.

cheers

Mike,

Here in Belgium we have HEKI products and other stuff, but every time I can buy these materials I do. Woodland Scenics is just the same. Greetz Guy

Very impressed with your work. Was it difficult painting camo on such a small vehicle? You must have a decent spray gun and a steady hand.

Hi Guy. A lot of firsts but you pulled them off well. I especially like the camo ... came out really well and on small scale.
Constructive criticism ..... The path/lane the tiger is moving on, appears to have have been created by all the tigers that passed that way? Normal civilian traffic (carts etc.) would not have the axel width of a heavy tank. The ground work looks good ... maybe a bit symmetrical ... but the lane/path detracts from the realism. Just something to think about for your next projects!

Matthew : I use an Aztek A470, I always test-spray on a paper sheet before I start spraying on my vehicle (searching for the right air pressure etc).

Frank : You are right about the path, I won't make this mistake again !

Tx for your comments gentlemen ! Guy

Great job. You seemed to have mastered all aspects in regards to this little diorama.

Figures really help to show the viewer this size of the objects. It is really not necessary to use them. But in the future, it might give you something else to master.

Thank you Carl ! Figures, I know, they are very good to show the size of a vehicle. May be my next vignette if I can find some decent ones ? Greetz !

Some people told me that the wooden base would look better if painted in black. So that's what I did yesterday !

Before :

After :

I think it stands out more now. Greetz guys, thanks for your attention !

Overall, very nice. I suggest a little dry brushing to reduce the exhaust staining, as the vehicle looks like it suffered a fire. Bear in mind, it was a slightly inefficient gasoline (petrol) engine, not a diesel. Also, Tiger muzzle brakes were not painted black, and German guns used a clean burning smokeless powder, so soot build up would be minimal.

Gerald : thanks for your valuable comment. As I said, this was my first German ever, and I have to admit even history and technical aspects are not my piece of cake yet.
I had this reference picture with blackened exaust pipes, but when I take a better look, there is also a dark green camo stripe involved. But it looked kind of cool, so...I Must have been too enthousiast, sorry, I'll take care the next time.
And...strange but...I have reference pictures with blackened muzzle brakes, Tiger ones. But : your comment was very interesting and I will keep in mind what you said my friend.

Best regards Guy

Guy,

Hoping to see more of your stuff! I am also hoping that the small scale bug has bitten you and you'll keep building in this scale. Good to see more braille scale builders.

Excellent attention to detail.

Great work Guy.I really like the way the camo is to scale which must be hard in braille scale. The ground work is also well executed and the whole scene look's really well laid down.Keep up the good work.

Hi G, thanks for the encouraging words, I'll do my best. My next one is a Jagdpanther, 654 s.Pz.Abt., Normandy, two tone camo pattern (dark yellow, green striping). I'll post a new topic soon. Guy
