Hi everyone,
Over the next few weeks, I will be posting progress of my fourth diorama titled 'Pushing In', Warsaw 1939. I'm building it mainly for practice and to use up some of my Airfix figures which have been in my cupboard for years.
Hope you enjoy,
Chas

Rubble added, primed and ready for painting. Can't start painting until my new airbrush arrives in the mail.

Nice start, the road looks good, I like the way you used the debris.
Couple of things I would think about. The horizontal supports on the pole should be perpendicular to the road not parallel to the base.
The temporary layout of the figures gives a sense that they are surrounded and in a tight spot, is that what you are going for?

Not quite sure what you mean with the pole scott? However, it does look a bit tilted to me, I'll fix it up. By the way, poles tend to tilt when blasted. (No offence to the Polish!).
Yes the machine gunners are going to be turned the other way so they are firing on the city.

Done some major changes and have included this Polish Hurricane crash landed. A heated needle, hobby knife and my own teeth were used to damage the plane. All foliage is natural and the grass is hemp+sawdust. My new Airbrush has improved my painting skills so much, one of the best thigs I have ever bought. I really enjoyed this build and hope to hear some of your comments on it.

If this is 1939, the Poles would not have had a British marked Hurricane. In fact, the RAF was never in Poland. The Poles who fkew fro the RAF did so in England and possibly France.

Chas,
I like it, it's pretty original, and if it was just for practise and to use up a few old figure i don't think it matters whether the poles had hurricanes in poland.
It's good work. Especially for a youngster. Keep it up.

Hurricanes, marked with RF, were used for the first time by Polish pilots of the 303 Fighter Sqdr. in 1940, during The Battle of Britain.

Thanks for the replies. Thanks Dean and jafo for understanding. I built the dio mainly to try out my new airbrush, use up some figures and to practice damaging stuff. I chose this hurricane simply because it was an unwanted item in my stash. I would have said so in my first post if I wanted to build this dio for Historical accuracy. I know hurricanes in these markings were not used in Poland, the trouble is, I don't know much about decal conversions. What I was after were some helpful, practical posts like slodder's which will help me improve my building skills.

Hi Chas,
A very inventive way of tryng out new techniques!!
For a young fella you are going about things the right way!I stopped modeling when i was about 15, and back then i hadn't even reached the level you are at now.
A pointer..If the cockpit had of been opened up a little it would've given the impression that the pilot was on the run with the Germans in hot pursuit!I probably would of ditched the flak and the wooden pole, but that is my own personal opinion.
I think you have done something to be proud of here.Your groundwork looks very well done and the over all general presentation is eye catching (good use of the photo frame btw).
Keep up the good work digger,
Shay
