hi
i am thinking of getting this kit as through abit of research i belive that this is what my grandad was in charge of in the desert and up italy in ww2. he was a tank comander. his final leave paper says for lothian anf border horse.

if anyone has any info i would be very greatful, i have never had any photos and saddly never met him but still would love to find out more.

however as i started i am thinking about this kit but just wondered if anyone has built it and if so whats it like and are the DS tracks any good?

thanks
neil

Gday Neil
I have built the kit, and it is arguably the best Sherman kit produced in injection plastic out there... The DS tracks are great, being simple to use and highly detailed. Of the band style one piece tracks out there, I'd have to say these are the best produced also.
Has a photo etch fret for detail including many parts, but unfortunately the decals are highly varied...
Good stuff
Brad
P.S. Good luck with your search for info!

have you checked the regt museum? you would be amazed at what they have, plus the more info you can provide people the better the chances of getting the result you require. have you applied for his war record?

neil, if you're short of reference material, try searching for the regiment in the photo section of the Imperial war museum collections website. you should be able to pick up some pointers from it.

try it at iwmcollections.org.uk
