Could anyone help me out with the color scheme of this early era T-72
I want to replicate this scene for my entry in the cold war campaign. Those stripes seem to be white but i dont know what the main color would be.
Thanks, Kent

This is a parade scheme.
The stripes are, as you suggested it, white.
The scheme was only applied for the annual parade on Red Square in Moscow and removed afterwards.
A lot of edges were highlited with these white stripes, but it was only a temporary marking.

That white trim is for a parade. As far as the base color, pretty much any green "in the ballpark" would be as good as any other. If it was the first vehicle painted from a particular drum, and all the thin stuff was on top, it might be a really blueish green. If if was the last vehicle painted from a drum of paint, it might be a yellow or brownish-green. Or anything in between.

Howdy Comrade Kent.
The insignia on the Turret looks like the Soviet Guards insignia
Here's a site that may be of some help. Various Warsaw Pact markings and military insignia

Hope this helps

The color used tended to be a dark gloss green, not unlike the dark gloss olive drab used on 1950-60s era US armor. The Soviet Guards insignia is like a unit citation to honor it for past deeds. Most DML Soviet kits (BTR, BMP, T-72, T-80, etc.) came with the markings.

Kent, I've got a pair I could send you for a 1/35 scale tank.

Thanks a ton for the offer Rob!
But I have a confession to make, after I made that post I went to go look inside the kit and begin planning the build. Then to my amazment (and embarasment!) I notice on the decal set a decal of that exact logo! So my problem is solved and I can go ahead as planned.
Thanks for all the help guys!
