Due to feedback we've gotten on the contest format, some changes have been introduced to the rules and these changes will take effect for the October contest. Please see the Contest Rules for the updated changes. The October contest submission period is now open and will run through October 31st.

We are also asking that you follow these guidelines when submitting your entry via the NRC or by email directly to support(at)armorama.com:

1) Please state in the title of the email or ticket "DMoM September Entry (screen name)" and provide your first and last name in the body of the email or ticket so we can properly credit your entry should you win.

2) Remember to state what category (either Intermediate/Advanced or Junior/Beginner) you would like to compete in.

3) Provide 10 or so shots in addition to your Contest entry photo, unedited, of your entry that will be used to publish your entry on the homepage. Resolution should be at least 800x600 please.

4) State which of the shots submitted you want placed in the gallery for voting purposes. If none is stated, we will randomly choose from the images submitted.

Sounds good to me. Keeps builders doing their first attempts at an airbush job or washes interested, and the master builders have a seperate spot. Hopefully we'll get a ton of entries going into the winter months! Heck, I may even finish something to enter

There's no prohibition against entering work that has been posted as a Blog, WIP, or completed thread on Armorama. The only exception is work that has been posted as either an On Display or a Feature article.

Thanks Bill,

Wow that's almost a revolution Just a thought. Did you ever consider allowing more than one picture par entry? I mean, from one angle one can't see everything. Some nice details won't be seen. IMHO what was interesting for the jury was the possibility to look at model from many sides so and thus having an opinion on stronger bases. Well, just my 2 cents.

Pawel,

Due to the voting nature of the gallery, one pic per image is all that's possible. It's up to the individual to insure the photo puts the model in the best possible presentation to the viewers. In an online contest, the photo is the model.

Hi,

I have been thinking about entering this month's DMOM with my recently finished T-34, built this as a campaign entry, and I just submitted an article I wrote about the build.
While this isn't shameless self-promotion banned in the rules, is it fair and okay to enter this month?

Eetu,

Participation in a campaign doesn't bar you from participating in the DMoM, it's the same thing as doing a Blog thread.

I've sent you a PM about the article submission.

Bill, couple of stupid questions. If you enter the contest can you still vote, at least in the other category? And are there any guidelines to determine what class you are in, or just the honor system and personal opinion? Thanks for your help.

If you enter you can still vote in either category. You can only vote for one entry in each category.

The classes are set-up as Junior/Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced and the threshold between the two is determined by use of techniques, AM, etc. that would separate someone new or under 18 to the hobby vs. those with more buld experience. Unless we get a case where an entry obviously belongs in a different category, we honor the choice of the builder as to which category they want to enter.
