Hi there,
Don't know much about this kit, but it looks like and interesting model you have created there. Good work and thanks for sharing. The damaged zimmer look good to me. I have no idea of this was applied to this tank but you've created a neat effect.
Cheers
Al

Looks good kkiron.
I like the battered appearance of the zimmerit.
Is that the old Tamiya kit or did you use the DML Jagdpanzer IV and/or use a combination of both?
Cheers

wow, talk about authentic, actually painting it in german three-tone and then 'capturing' it and repainting it in russian green Looks good! I wonder if they ever captured any PIV's and painted them green, might look cool too
Is it just me or was the use of zimmerit by the Germans a stupid idea?

Was zimmerit a stupid idea? I guess it's how you measure it. They developed it to protect vs. magnetic mines (which their own infantry utilized). The Allies didn't use them much at all. So it was a precaution against a threat that didn't materialize. However, US tank forces up-armored their tanks w/wood, concrete and wire cages to protect vs. the use of Japanese mines.
But here's how I ultimately measure it: they sure make modelling German armor interesting!!!

A captured Jagdpanzer IV L/48 is a pretty good subject to model very unusual......I might keep that one in mind for a future project...

kkiron,
Like the overall finish. The zimmerit looks rather thick. I'm not sure how thick it would be in scale. Also, the extinguisher brackets appear to be the same color as the extinguisher itself (red). The jack and the hooks appear to be silver which looks out of place.
I always enjoy seeing these captured/repainted vehicles. Great job on the weathering. Zimmerit pattern is very nicely done as well.
I'd go

That is a nice approach to the kit. At first I didn't notice taht you had painted it in the 3 color German schem. That is a very interesting approach and adds a nice touch.

Kkiron,
Just a quick FYI, the vehicle isn't Russian. It's actually a Bulgarian Jagdpanzer 4 (at least, that is how the photo in the Bulgarian Armor book labeled it). There were also shots of Pz 4's (either H's or J's) in similar livery. Either way, I like your model.
Regards,
Georg

FYI,
According to this site,
http://rkkaww2.armchairgeneral.com/galleries/axiscaptured/axiscaptured_SPG_img.htm
the Jagdpanzer IV in the photo was given to the Assault-gun Battalion/1st Bulgarian Army by the 3rd Ukrainian Front of the Soviet army.
Cheers
