Hi Guys,
I'm working on a DML M50 Turret and I need some input to make the large weld lines on the busell of the turret.
I've tried A&Bputty but I can't get it to look right..
I NEED HELP!!

I use styrene strip, size varies depending on the size I'm trying to create but say .015x.020 or .020 rod for starters. Glue it down well and let dry. the soften with more glue and texture with a knife blade. keep the area WELL ventilated, as you're going to have lots of glue fumes around during this process.

I tried the miliput method a few days ago on my Su-100 and the hardest part was rolling it thin enough. After that it was simple. The stuff is easy to work with and you can blend/smooth it with water. I highly reccomend this method!

Here are a few ways:

The A+B Putty method

Stretched sprue ( I also like to use the very fine EverGreen rod for uniformity) hit heahily with liquid cement and prdded with a dental pick.

PE - Was pretty nice, but was a gift from Mark at On the Mark, but I normally wouldn't spend that kind of money on it.

And for some welds, especially those capped with low hydrogen rods, (nice and smooth with no visible "row of dimes) I use a sharp needle or piece os styrene and CA.
