ACE used to make about 10 different variations of the LAV.

Do you know of any distributors for ACE?

Hannants have some. I guess you have to do a search on E-bay since they are short run edition. Btw, they are a bit of a challenge to build.

Frank,
Armo has the following in 1:72nd resin:
AR72103 M35 US Cargo truck
AR72104 M35A2 Us cargo truck
AR72105 M49A2C US Army Fuel Tanker
AR72106 M35A1 US Army Quad Gun Truck
AR72107 M35A1 US Army Gun Truck
Some are available and some are "announced". I found these listed on the Tracks 'N Troops website. http://www.tracks-n-troops.com/armo.htm

Frank,
I found 1 more M-35 guntruck by Armo:
AR72127 M35A1 Quad .50 Cal Gun Truck
Again, go to: http://www.tracks-n-troops.com/armo.htm.
For ACE products, check out HobbyTerra (Russia): http://www.hobbyterra.com/
Do a search for ACE and you will come up with almost the entire line. A company in the USA does their billing (credit card/PayPal/etc) so you have some reasonable rates for the kits and the shipping. I'm only a satisfied customer and currently have an ACE M-101 US 105mm field piece and a GAZ-11-73 WWII Soviet Staff car ("clone" of US Ford 1936 Model ) on order.

ps: here are a few more on-line places to look for 1:72nd armor:

http://www.nkrmodels.com.au/ -- Earl (the owner) is great to work with. He is in Australia, so you have to go through the currency equation -- but has some unusual 72nd armor/a/c items

http://www.jadarhobby.home.pl/ -- Jadar Hobby -- only ordered a couple of times -- worked fine w/credit card. Good selection of 72nd armor

http://www.modelimex.com/inshop/scripts/shop_NF.asp? -- Modelimex -- don't know too much -- interesting to "shop" there and see what is available.

Those are some of the more "exotic" shops. Of course Hannants in England, Squadron Shop in Texas, Roll Models in Minnesota, Stevens International in VA (I think?), Past Time Hobbies on the East Coast are all located here in the USA and available with a "google" search or contact me and I'll give you the links.

Back to your original question, 5 ton Modern American military trucks, not much out there. I look forward to the mainstream manufacturers coming out -- especially with all that is in the news from Iraq. Plus, at least where I live in the central USA, we see these trucks going up and down the hiways either under their own power or on flatbed semi-trucks. Go to any National Guard Armory or Army reserve/Army base and you will see them as well. Oh for a tow truck version...
