I came across some miscellaneous photos of some of my dioramas on my hard drive and thought I'd post a few. Some are 'in progress' some are finished.
Cheers,
Charles

I like the KT. I think it just needs some variety in the rust. Try using a whole variety of rust shades from dark brown to bright orange. Also rust streaks in the rain so that can help too. Best thing to do is look at real rusted out tanks.

The staff car is cool, looks like it's had a few different 'lives' and is now rusting away in its final destination.
Thanks for sharing.

I just love the very natural rust spots on the Steyr, this particular model + the corner with tyres and wood planking is truly awesome - otherwise the desolated landscape is quite well rendered, can't wait to see the whole finished!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
David,
The rusting on the Panther was done with multiple coats of 'Rustall" on top of various thicknesses of 'Cast-a-coat" (basically a very fine sand adhered to the surface)
JB,
" can't wait to see the whole finished!"
I should have been clearer in that these photos are of older dioramas of mine I found a whole file of misc. photos on my computer!
Here is the 'finished' diorama, "Poland 1958" that you commented on:
Cheers,
Charles

mmh, well, that doesn't mean that the Steyr/tyres/wooden plank is not really great, you were a precocious great diorama maker then
just love the last pic too

Thanks JB. I can't seem to crank them out like I used to! The Steyr was fun. I 'civilianized' it with the hard top and blue paint job. The Dio premise is that two students, while bicycling through rural Poland, stumble across the abandoned vehicles on a farm circa 1958 ( every model builders fantasy?) It was a fun dio to build and has my very first scratch built tree

That's some great work Charles, a refreshing break from what we're used to. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)
