Can anyone give me their opinions on the quality of 1/285 GHQ Miniatures. I know they are small, but are they of good quality? (i.e. are they worth around $8 for a pack of 3 to 5 vehicles) I was thinking of building a diorama of several vehicles and that scale looks to be the most reasonable.

Thanks,

IMHO, for the scale they are yes. For starters they are made out of Pewter. I have some from back when I did microarmor wargaming. THey include the M2A1/A2 bradley, BMP-2, and the T-80 w/ reaactive armor.

Highlight of the detail that can be found on these

M2: the bolt heads to attach the supplemental armor, foot.hand loops on the side skirts, hatches, the TOW cable on the ramp, etc

BMP-2: hatches, smoke grenade launchers on turret, the ribs on the splash board

T-80: reactive armor, thermal sleeve on the barrel, 12.7mm MG, side skirt detail, hatches

in short, yes they are well worth the money. Right now they have special packages for battelegroups consisting of about 30 vehicles or so at a good price ($30-$40).

Howdy,

I've recently built on of these GHQ kits up. I've also written about the build. In a nutshell, quite nice for the scale.

Spank my banner and go to the FV432(M) page.
