Hello

This spring i started with my "Surrender" vignette. I have in my collection one old Tamiya set of figures, so i think "Let's use it". I aslo bought Dragon set "Georgian Legion" for this vignette.

First i started to do is base; from wood:

Along with finishing the base i started to do figures:

Base is complete:

And now, all in position:

Whell, that's all, hope you like it!

The base is very nice, groundwork, variation in color, mud, trench, shape - nice.
A couple of things pop up to me, the open area is a bit too open. I'd like to see a pile of crates or something to fill it in a bit. I'd put a spare ammo box next to the German MG position or on the ground, maybe some copper wire bits for shell casings.

Overall really cool.

Thanks for comment! Yes, it's a good idea with crates or a spare ammo boxes. I will do it!

I love it too. The base is great, very well done.
I agree, maybe some crates or ammo in the bunker. Also maybe the Germans dusted up a little. One on of the Americans looks like he had been shooting, so mabye a dead or wounded german other than the one on the strecher.

The scene is set out really well.

Looks really nice so far.
In addition to the suggestions already posted, I would remove the rifle grenade from the American on top of the trench.
Since firing the grenades required special blank ammunition to be used, it would have been quite risky to move around with it in close vicinity of enemy troops.

I liove the groundwork and the Germans. Those Tamiya figs don't work all that well for me i nthis scene, The giy with the Tommy gun in particular is posed impossibly off balance and can only work if he's actually firing. (Tamiya's bad, not yours.)

I agree with Eetu, I was wondering what he hoped to accomplish with the rifle grenade at that range, but maybe he's just gung-ho and liked to look down at the prisoners from that vantage point!

I wish I could do figures that well and then say my next attempt will be better!

Very nice work!

Gday Goran
The best part for me was the progression of the base photo by photo. This really strips down the process, with no text needed. Agree with most of the other comments. I think the difference in quality of the figures is evident too...
Great stuff

Been wanting to do a dio with a trench in it ,this is going to help thanx for sharing. You can make those tamiya figures look a lot better just by putting some aftermarket heads on them .

First i use quick fixing cement (5th picture) to get some ground texture, then i use real earth. Why to simulate earth when you got real stuff! (earth is from flower shop)

Steve, thanks for comment.
Yes i know that aftermarket heads improve quality but some times is very hard to find aftermarket stuff in Croatia...
