Ready to be installed in a small vignette, my finished Jagdpanther Early with Zimmerit coat. Normandy, Les Longes, British sector, july '44.
654 s.Pz.Abt., 25 tank destroyers.
Interesting : 10 Churchill tanks destroyed in a couple of minutes, by 3 Jagdpanthers in hidden positions.

Pics :

I hope you enjoyed my second 1/72 scale model.

Hi Guy!

The finish turned out really nice, I especially like the dust and the dry mud on the lower parts and the back.
Your build made me want to buy one of them.

Just one minor glitch, the spare track links look like they were welded together.

Thank you Petros !
Thank you Peter ! You're right about the spare tracks,I'll see what I can do about this (may be I can paint thin black lines between them).

It worked out well, painted fine dark lines between the spare tracks. Good remark !

A fine build. I do like the rusty spare track links.

cheers

Gorgeous! This is really a beautiful build!
A question about the Dragon tracks:
--did you find them difficult to place on the wheels (were they overly-tight?)
--did they join and hold their junction well? and...
--how do they hold the paint?

I am really impressed with how good 1/72 scale armor has become recently. Looks as good as 1/35.

Karl

The DS tracks are pretty good, though there has been issues with over loose/tight lengths. They hold paint really well and can be glued with either normal model glue or CA with ease.

cheers

That's true Michael, but not each release in this Pro series has DS tracks in it. These for example aren't DS. I have worked with DS tracks to build my first tank in 1/72 (Tiger I Mid Prod, Zimmerit version) and they are superb ! Beautiful fit !

As I said, the tracks in this box are not DS I believe (no info about that on the outside of the box). These fit quite tight. But once they are in place, they are soft enough to give them their realistic look (Sorry, do I make myself clear ?).

Thanks for your replies !

Guy,

Cheers! Super job! Looking forword to seeing more of your stuff. . .

I agree with Matthew on the wealth of detail in this scale. And with the way you painted and weathered this vehicle your build can easily be mistaken for a 1/35th scale build.

lovely work guy! i also did the dml jagdpanther several months ago. to represent an early jagd, i only had to remove the central engine ventilator (that small thingy between two round thingys on the rear deck) and of course thinning of the armor skirts. btw, you may also want to coax down the tow cables on your jagd, they seem to be floating. you can do this by applying elmers glue and holding the cable down with strips of small tape while the glue dries.

happy modeling!

Nice looking kit - First thought it was 35th scale, you've done a great job overall. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
