Hello,
I'm making a small setting for my Jagdpanther.
This photo gave me the inspiration I needed :
This is the start in balsa wood :
Then I added planks made of balsa and completed with texture by a needle :
Just for fun and because I was curious, I painted the front with oil paint washes :
The pale planks will be painted tomorrow.
I'll update this topic regularly, hope you enjoy it ! Can you help me ? Just tell ! G.

Thanks guys !
Goran : the length is about 13 cm (X 72 = 9.36 m.)
Petros : I am still thinking about realistic looking solutions. So I did not decide this part yet.
I keep posting guys, thank you !

Nice to see your eye for detail, are you going to do some brickwork similar to whats in the picture?
Very detailed so far considering it's in 1/72.

Fantastic job so far Guy nice to see your approach to the project. The wood with the oil washes look very good and add a lot of caracter to the building. You have a very good eye for detail which should make this a stunning piece when complete.

Thanks friends,
I think I managed to create a thatch roof. But if you have remarks, please tell me, I always want to improve my results.
Grass for making sceneries was used. Thinned wood glue was applied. And a lot of patience ! Painting by airbrush isn't done yet, that will be for tomorrow.
Pics :
And then...pffff, the other side.
Oh yes, i made a chimney, needs to be painted too of course.

Gday Guy
This is marvellous mate!
Another diorama gem is on the way...
The thatch looks pretty darn good to me, and the effort definitely has it's rewards.
Dunno about the ktibag on the muzzle of the JagdPanther though

Hi Honeycut, I had to make this muzzle break cover because the muzzle break itself was attached to the sprew very clumsy, damage 100 % garanteed. I found it a good solution to save the kit. Tx for your reply ! G.

I was wondering how you were going to finish the roof, and the thatch looks fantastic. The whole building is just amazing for 1:72.
Great work.

The thatch is nicely done, in braille scale this is tough to pull of as well as you did. Nice texture.

And we battle on :
- the chimney painted, the first layer of oil paint :
- two typical trees made, partially tree branch-Milliput :
A picture of these trees :
- a white plank, for variation :
- the wooden support under the roof corner painted green :
Tx for your attention ! I'll be back tomorrow.

Hi guys,
The flowers (irisses) on top of the roof are in place now, they were used to keep the reed dry and free from rotting.
The back of the house is finished but I still have to make pics, next update.
I'm already thinking about a nice composition now, something compact, this is just a try out :

Hey Guy,
So the 1/72 virus has really effected you!!It's great to see you dabble in the various genres of modeling..sculpting,1/35,1/72 etc.Very inspiring!
I like the way you have reproduced the shack it looks stunning.
The composition of the last photo looks good, i would however add some of the fenceline at the front of the house a little after the trees. You could have a portion broken off even?
I think the shrub in front of the Jag on the left blocks a bit of the view, maybe a smaller piece could be place there instead!
Any figures in this scene mate?
Greetz,Shay

The green layer of 'moss' algea on the edges of the shed really make it special. I found myself jumping back and forth between the reference photo and the dio photo. I would find something that didn't 'work' in the dio, but the reference photo supported what you did. Like the 'Stump trees' being so close, or the size of the shrubs. The diorama is well done and well supported. Can you work a real photo into the display somehow to show the accuracy? Maybe a printed photo in a mini-frame displayed next to the end diorama.

Shay, tx for your reply mate.
It must be the angle of the photo shot. The tree branch isn't that large. I hope I'll speak to you soon, or meet you on a contest. Cheers mate !!!
Thank you Scott, I'll do my best !
